As of October 2022, I will be teaching in-person lessons at my residence in the city of Richmond, CA in the East Bay. Nearby neighborhoods are Berkeley, El Cerrito, Oakland, Emeryville and Pinole. Flute students requesting in-person lessons must disclose their COVID-19 vaccination status. For non-vaccinated individuals, we will both wear masks at all times when not playing.

Teaching Philosophy

Each flute lesson with me focuses first on fundamentals. My goal is to help each flute student to find their most efficient, streamlined method of sound production and a natural musicality. Through my personal series of tone-developing exercises, I aim to create a seamless flow of sound from the lowest to the highest registers of the flute. With a mindfulness to the nuances of tone, flute students of all ages and abilities can gain greater confidence and consistency in their flute playing.
