In this video, I break down a classic flute etude from Robert Cavally’s “Melodious and Progressive Studies, Book 1” (the Blue Book), Gariboldi’s Etude #1 in C Major (Moderato e tranquillo) from Opus 132. I offer some tips, concepts and practice techniques to help the student get the most out of this popular flute study.
Note: While Cavally’s “Melodious and Progressive Studies for Flute” seemed to be out of print for a time in 2020, it is currently back on the J.W. Pepper website.
